From January through November 2009, China's overall social power consumption reached 3,299.08 billion kWh, a 4.77 percent increase when compared to the same period last year. From January to November, the national investment in power source projects reached $41.33 billion. Of which, the investment for hydropower, thermal power, nuclear power and wind power reached $9.62 billion, $16.73 billion, $7.01 billion and $7.21 billion, respectively. As of the end of November 2009, the total installed capacity of power plants sized 6 MW or above in China reached 814.16 million kilowatts (kW), a 9.6 percent increase year-on-year. Of which, installed capacity of hydropower and wind power reached 158.73 million kW and 14.69 million kW, an increase of 14.3 percent and 85.6 percent year-over-year, respectively; that of thermal power reached 631.39 million kW, a 7.6 percent increase; and nuclear power reached 9.08 million kW, which remained the same as the previous year. From January to November, the average accumulated utilization hour of power generation equipment in China reached 4,138 hours, a drop of 189 hours year-on-year. Of which, the average utilization hour of hydropower equipment reached 3,165 hours, a drop of 318 hours year-on-year; and the average utilization hour of thermal power equipment reached 4,377 hours, a drop of 130 hours year-on-year. From January to November, the average coal consumption in power supply reached 339 g/kWh, a drop of 6 g/kWh year-on-year; the accumulated plant service power consumption rate reached 5.88 percent, of which hydropower 0.62 percent, thermal power 6.67 percent; line-loss rate reached 6.07 percent, an increase of 0.21 percent point year-on-year.
