BIRMINGHAM, Alabama, USA (July 2, 2014) – Pumps & Systems, the leading magazine for pump users worldwide for more than 20 years, expands its international coverage of powerful technical pumping information to the Middle East/North Africa region.
The premier issue of Pumps & Systems MENA, an international print magazine from the publisher of Pumps & Systems, will launch in early October this year. It also will be distributed at the Pumps & Systems booth Nov. 10, 2014, at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC), the region’s leading conference for oil and gas professionals.
“With an extraordinary amount of construction and tourism growth in metropolitan cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha, the pumping market in the MENA region has exploded in the past decade,” said Pumps & Systems Editor Michelle Segrest. “This growth is happening rapidly, which results in many opportunities for large pumping projects. Our readers and advertisers continue to tell us of pumping activity in this region, and no other publications cover pumping reliability, maintenance and optimization in each issue. We identified an important need for this information, so expanding to the MENA region is a natural fit for Pumps & Systems.”
The magazine is an exciting addition to the 20-year-old Pumps & Systems brand for its publisher, Cahaba Media Group (CMG).
“Creating this new print magazine specifically for the MENA region is the next logical step in building on the Pumps & Systems global brand,” said CMG President Wally Evans, publisher of Pumps & Systems, Upstream Pumping Solutions and, now, Pumps & Systems MENA. “It also makes sense to debut the publication at ADIPEC, which is the largest technical conference for the oil and gas industry in the GCC.”
Pumps & Systems MENA will publish bimonthly in 2015 following the October 2014 launch, and will cover case studies and technical information in the following industries:

- Water & wastewater
- Power generation
- Food & beverage processing
- Building services
- Chemical, petrochemical and refinery
The regular editorial coverage will also include strategic and insightful market data from the respected global consultancy firm, Frost & Sullivan.

The launch of Pumps & Systems MENA will provide a printed version of the world’s leading authority on pumping technology to subscribers in the GCC countries. The circulation for Pumps & Systems MENA will initially be approximately 15,000 subscribers.
