How does a metering type progressive cavity pump for precise, low flow appliactions beneficial than a peristaltic pump, solenoid driven diaphragm pump / Air operated diaphragm pump & a plunger pump?

none of these pump types you indicated should be considered high accuracy repeatable metering pumps, no matter what the manufactureres will say. if you truly need high accuracy and repeatability; use a true metering pump - Pulsafeeder, Milton Roy, LMI, Braun & Luebbe, etc (i don't mean their low tech solenoid actuated designs). only you can decide how much accuracy you require, or can afford. if 2-5% accuracy is adequate use any of the types you mentioned. differences include pressure capability, effects on the pumpage, NPSHr, pulsations, wear, cost, process requirements, etc.

If you want a precise flow rate a metering pump is the best...

And if you want your fluid must not be contact with pump metal parts then go with peristaltic pump...

hope helps...
