Stop 3 of our tour is Grundfos Corporations Headquarters in Bjerringbro, Denmark. For more tours, please visit the Pumps & Systems on Tour homepage.

BJERRINGBRO, Denmark (May 30, 2013) – Grundfos Corporation has been represented in the pump market for more than 60 years and produces about 16 million pump units annually. This includes circulator pumps for heating and air conditioning and other centrifugal pumps for industry, water supply, wastewater and dosing. Grundfos currently covers about 50 percent of the world market for circulator pumps.

Grundfos also produces standard and submersible motors and electronics for monitoring and controlling pumps.

The majority of activity for the Danish Grundfos companies takes place in the small town of Bjerringbro, where the company was established in 1945. Bjerringbro is a railway town with a population of about 7,500. It is located about 120 miles northwest of Copenhagen.

Grundfos has many initiatives that focus on sustainability and groundbreaking technology. One of them is the MAGNA3 circulator, which was introduced this year at the AHR Expo in Dallas. The MAGNA3 automatically adjusts performance to changing demand and reduces the need for pump-throttling valves. It cuts energy consumption by up to 75 percent.

Pumps & Systems was at AHR for the launch of this product. In an exclusive interview, Grundfos President, North America Jes Munk Hansen told us, “Efficiency is at the core of this product. This is the biggest launch in the history of Grundfos. The technology is complex on the inside, but it is easy to install and optimize.”

This is just one of the innovative technologies we will learn about as we explore the Grundfos Corporation Headquarters.
