ITT Corporation announced a next- generation product that is expected to set new industry standards for performance, maintenance and efficiency.

The new Goulds XHD Heavy Duty Slurry Pump will enable customers in mining and related industries to move slurry, a mixture of mineral concentrate and water, with improved reliability and at lower operating cost. The new pump, which can handle the heaviest slurry under the toughest conditions, is designed to be maintained even while running and to require less downtime for service procedures – with parts that are more accessible and adjustable than in other slurry pumps.

“We asked our mining customers what they would like to see in a next-generation slurry pump and then gave it to them by combining more than 100 years of slurry pumping experience with some innovative new technologies,” said John Manna, vice president of global marketing for ITT's Industrial Process business, who said four of the pump's standard features are patented or have patents pending.

“We are proud of this new addition to our portfolio and look forward to continuing to develop innovative solutions that reduce the total cost of ownership for our customers,” Manna said.

The product is offered by ITT's Goulds Pumps brand, a leader in the chemical, oil and gas, mining, power, and general industrial pump markets. It is available in a range of sizes and configurations tailored to operator needs. Target applications include primary metals, mineral processing, non-metallic mining, power utilities, and sand and aggregates.

ITT's Industrial Process is a dynamic business that is growing and expanding globally and has an extensive portfolio of leading-edge technology that has served customers in the oil and gas, mining, chemical, power generation, biopharmaceutical, and general industries markets for more than 160 years. Industrial Process product lines include pumps, valves, monitoring and control systems, water treatment, and aftermarket services.
