OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. (June 21, 2013) – Pump Solutions Group (PSG®) announced that Ueli Thuerig has been appointed President of PSG Europe. Thuerig, formerly Chief Executive Officer of PSG operating company Maag, will report to PSG President Dean Douglas.

PSG Europe has been recently created to help PSG capitalize on its European footprint by leveraging its size, capabilities and synergies within the region. This structure will also enable PSG to streamline its processes and share best practices in Europe.

“PSG is thrilled to have someone with Ueli’s leadership and expertise guiding PSG’s European initiatives,” said Douglas. “The formation of PSG Europe will play an important role in increasing PSG’s customer intimacy across our European operational platform, and Ueli will be instrumental in helping us achieve that.”

The organization will support PSG manufacturing and facilities in Europe, including Auxerre, France; Grossostheim, Germany; Kamp-Lintfort, Germany; Oberglatt, Switzerland; and Rozzano, Italy. In addition, the Tianjin, China facility will also be part of PSG Europe due to the engineering and technology alignment of the Maag Industrial Pumps platform and its screw pump technology offering.

Thuerig has been with Maag since 1990, holding a variety of leadership positions during his tenure. He holds an MBA from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

Bernhard Dicks Appointed Senior Vice President of Operations
To help support the newly formed PSG Europe organization, Bernhard Dicks was appointed Senior Vice President of Operations for the European region. Dicks will lead a team of five general managers for each of the facilities in the region. Dicks has been a valuable member of PSG serving as VP/GM European Operations prior to this latest appointment.

John Pepper Vice President of Integration
PSG also announced that it has named John Pepper VP of Integration. His responsibilities will include driving the global integration of Brookvale, Australia-based Ebsray Pumps, a regenerative turbine, sliding vane and gear pump manufacturer that PSG acquired earlier this year.

Pepper previously led PSG’s sales and business development efforts in the Americas. He will report to Tom Madden, Vice President and General Manager of Blackmer®, Grand Rapids, MI, USA. Ebsray Pumps is being integrated into Blackmer’s operations.

“John’s expertise, leadership and successful track record made him the perfect choice for this important position,” said Dean Douglas, President of PSG. “His global pump experience and intimate knowledge of Blackmer’s and Ebsray’s products and markets will be critical in ensuring a smooth transition into the PSG family.”

Pepper will temporarily relocate to Australia during this transition.

Andrew Usuki new Vice President, Sales & Business Development – Americas
PSB has named Andrew Usuki Vice President, Sales & Business Development – Americas. Usuki will replace John Pepper, who will lead the integration of recently acquired Ebsray Pumps as the Vice President of Integration.

Usuki previously served as PSG’s Vice President, Vertical Market Management, where he was responsible for the development of PSG’s global vertical market segment growth strategies. Prior to that, Usuki led the Americas Business Development team. He has been with PSG since 2009 and will report to Karl Buscher, Senior Vice President, Commercial.

“Andrew’s commitment to excellence resulted in several enhancements to PSG’s strategies, including defining growth opportunities, accelerating globalization and leading our new product and acquisition integration initiatives,” said Buscher. “His previous success in the Americas will help Andrew drive growth with both our distributors and end-users.”

Usuki has a Bachelor of Arts degree from John Hopkins University and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He will continue to be based out of PSG’s headquarters in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.

Tomas Valencia New Vice President, Sales & Business Development – EMEA
PSG has named Tomas Valencia Vice President, Sales & Business Development – EMEA. Valencia will be responsible for the sales and business development activities in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) for a variety of PSG operating companies, including Mouvex®, Almatec®, Wilden® and Blackmer®, to name a few. Valencia will report to Karl Buscher, Senior Vice President, Commercial for PSG.

“For two decades, Tomas has consistently performed at a high level in terms of sales, marketing, business development and product management,” said Buscher. “His proven international success in the Latin American, European and U.S. markets will be a tremendous asset to PSG. We are looking forward to great things from Tomas.”

Valencia joins PSG after nearly 20 years of experience in global multinational companies, most recently working at Johnson Controls and York International. Valencia has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, as well as a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Valencia will be based out of PSG’s Maag facility in Oberglatt, Switzerland.
