FUJAIRAH, UAE (3 September 2014) – Gulf Petrochem has endorsed its focus on best practice and compliance in safety and sustainability by successfully adhering to the rigorous criteria for ISO accreditation.

The certification will help the integrated energy company expand the capabilities of its Fujairah terminal to handle crude oil and increase its storage capacity to more than 1 million cbm, in line with industry standards.

TUV Nord was engaged to audit Gulf Petrochem's compliance in March 2014 and has subsequently awarded the Fujairah oil terminal with Quality Management System ISO 9001:2008, Environment Management System ISO 14001:2004 and Occupational Health and Safety Management System BS OHSAS 18001:2007.

The review, requested by Gulf Petrochem, is testament to its commitment to international standards and strict compliance with environmental management systems, quality management systems, and health and safety measures.

The German-based Classification Agency, the specialist global entity in auditing the compliance with ISO specifications, carried out an extensive assessment of all certifications including the environmental management mechanism through which the sustainable performance of the terminal is measured.
