Menomonee Falls, WI - Power management company Eaton is helping electrical distributors, contractors and industrial customers optimize the performance of variable frequency drives (VFD) through a robust online training program. Created by Eaton experts in VFD technology and application, the program supplements basic product understanding through self-guided and instructor-led training and includes commissioning classes.

As part of the course offerings, Eaton is offering commissioner training, which provides the information on how to properly install and troubleshoot an Eaton variable frequency drive. These courses are offered online with interactive programming demonstrations and video elements to enhance the learning experience. Participants can learn proper startup procedures, receive hands-on programing training to set parameters, and have to complete an interactive assessment in order to pass the course.

Eaton eLearning courses for VFD technology supports product, installation and commissioning and service knowledge. Each category has four skill levels to accommodate a variety of learning entry points, including:

  • Introductory level (101) courses for those that are new to solid state motor control products
  • Intermediate (201) classes providing the knowledge and skills necessary to meet specific job requirements
  • Skilled (301) courses building on the intermediate level classes by providing in depth specific application knowledge
  • Advanced training (401) offering the highest level of specialized product knowledge and skills
