BADEN, Penn, (Oct. 19, 2016) – Xylem has secured a contract to supply filtration technology to the new Beaver County water treatment plant in Baden, Pennsylvania. Once operational, the plant will increase the volume of drinking water produced for the West View Water Authority, treating up to 15 million gallons of water per day (mgd) from the Ohio River. The plant will help meet growing demand from communities in Beaver County, Butler County and Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

BARRANQUILLA, Colombia (Aug. 11, 2016) – Xylem Inc. is expanding its dewatering pump rental and service capabilities across Latin America with the opening of three new hubs in the region this year. This month, the company opened its newest dewatering pump rental facility in Barranquilla, Colombia. In April 2016, Xylem opened a new rental hub in Pará, Brazil, while another was opened in Chiclayo, Peru, in January 2016.

DUBAI (Aug. 3, 2016) – Xylem Inc. announced that it has signed a $13 million USD contract to supply an integrated wastewater treatment solution for water reuse as part of the Manfouha sewage treatment plant expansion in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In partnership with Al Muhaidib Contracting, Xylem’s ICEAS SBR technology will facilitate the efficient and effective treatment of wastewater at the plant, which will be reused for irrigation and agriculture in the region.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (June 20, 2016) – Nishita Sinha from Chatham, New Jersey has won the 2016 U.S. Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP)—the most prestigious youth competition for water-related research. Sinha and 53 other students, representing a total of 47 states and Puerto Rico, competed in the national finals this past weekend at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland (April 25, 2016) – Xylem Inc. has launched a new biogas support system, the Flygt BIS 1 biogas support system, specially adapted for the wall-mounting of submersible mixers in biogas digesters. The robust installation system is designed to ensure process optimization, reliability and safety as well as hold the mixer in place throughout its use.

The system is easy to install and enables the operator to reduce installation time by up to 40 percent.*

BRIDGEPORT, New Jersey (March 2, 2016) – Xylem Inc. was a primary subcontractor on a project that received the Carolina’s Associated General Contractors (CAGC) Pinnacle Award at the Carolinas AGC convention.
