ST. LOUIS – To accommodate global customer demand for its industrial electric motors, Nidec Motor Corporation (NMC) recently expanded its Monterrey, Mexico manufacturing facility. The $2.3 million investment expanded the facility by 60,000 square feet, increased its production capacity and improved operations.
The facility is part of NMC’s Commercial Industrial Motors & Drives (CIMD) business.
MILAN, Italy – Dominique Llonch is the new chairman of Nidec Industrial Solutions and CEO of Nidec ASI, a part of the Nidec Group’s Industrial Solutions sector. Llonch succeeds Giovanni Barra, who has been at the helm of the company since 2013.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Nidec Motor Corporation (NMC), a global manufacturer of motors, drives and automated systems, has announced a $100,000 donation to the Missouri University of Science & Technology (Missouri S&T). The gift will fund the relocation and expansion of the undergraduate power lab in the electrical and computer engineering department at the University and also support equipment upgrades in the lab.
ST. LOUIS – Hiroyuki Yoshimoto becomes the first person in the 45-year-old history of the Kyoto-based multinational manufacturer of electric motors to hold the position as Nidec's new president. He succeeds the company’s founder Shigenobu Nagamori.
The appointment, announced on Feb. 15, was approved on June 20 at the 45th regular general meeting of shareholders and a subsequent meeting of the board of directors.
KYOTO, Japan (Aug. 02, 2016)—Nidec Corporation announced that its Board of Directors has approved a resolution to acquire the motors, drives and electric power generation businesses of Emerson Electric Co. For this purpose, Nidec entered into an asset and stock purchase agreement on Aug. 2, 2016 (US time). The purchase price is $1.2 billion (on a cash and debt-free enterprise value basis) and the consideration will be all cash.
KYOTO, Japan (May 23, 2016) — Nidec Corporation announced that it acquired a 100 percent ownership interest in E.C.E. S.r.l., an Italian cable hoist manufacturer, from the shareholders on May 20 to strengthen its building construction machine business conducted through Nidec’s subsidiary, Nidec FIR Elettromeccanica S.r.l.
KYOTO, Japan (April 22, 2016) -- Nidec Corporation announced that it agreed to acquire approximately 94.8 percent of the shares of ANA IMEP S.A. (IMEP) from its major shareholder. For this purpose, Nidec entered into a share purchase and transfer agreement with the major shareholder of IMEP on April 21.
